What to expect:

We want to do our best to prepare you so you can relax, be comfortable and have a great time at URBAN. From navigating the lobby to the different components of our service here are a few things you can expect.

Directly through the front doors of the Board of Education auditorium at the San Diego School District offices, there is an information area where you will be able to find all you need or want to know about Urban including upcoming events, gatherings and community groups. It is here where we will also be able to answer any questions you might have and help you with anything you might need.

Urban Kids
Across the parking lot where the adults meet is our children’s classroom. Outside the classroom is a registration table where you can check in your kids from ages 11 and under. Our downtown class (children 3months - 23 months) is right by the main door of the School District, you will see it as you make your way to the main auditorium. Children will be involved in age approppriate gatherings that will be fun, motivating as well as educational. All of our staff is trained to work with kids and have had full background checks to ensure a safe environment for your children. Please arrive 10 minutes before service in order to check in your children. If you need help finding anything or with check in please feel free to ask one of our team members with an “Ask Me” badge or t-shirt and we will assist you with your needs.

Service:

Our service incorporates aspects of music, media with personal announcements and a relevant message. Urban typically begins with worship which commonly includes music and singing. It is a time to celebrate what God has done in our lives and to express our love for Him. The music is hip with influences of rock, but whatever your taste of music you will be energized by the positive and uplifting message expressed during the 20 minutes set. After the music we will transition with some form of media usually a video to highlight what is happening at Urban and to transition us into the message being discussed.

Word:

Following the media presentation our speaker will transition us into a relevant and interesting message including scripture and prayer. The messages tend to be humorous, entertaining and engaging. They will motivate you to experience God on a deeper level and help equip you to live in your dream. We will not use this time to push our own agenda or campaign. During this time our focus is on you the individual in order that you might, “lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has laid hold of you.”

Our services will conclude with music and with a short prayer. Once the service has concluded there will be people ready to partner with you in prayer should you desire it.

From the moment of the final prayer we leave the option of going deeper in your journey with Urban is up to you. We are here for you, we believe in you and we can’t wait to see you achieve your dreams.
